Senior in the College of Arts and Sciences dies

A senior in Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences died on Saturday, the university has announced.
David Stankiewicz, a senior, died on Saturday, according to an email to the university community distributed by Dolan Evanovich, senior vice president of the division of enrollment and the student experience. The cause of death is not specified in the email.
Stankiewicz, a native of Weston, Connecticut, used to be a member of SU men’s track and field for his freshman and sophomore year, according to cuse.com.
“Losing a member of our community is difficult and painful. It is especially hard when we lose someone so young and with so much life in front of him,” Evanovich said. “I join Chancellor Kent Syverud, and the entire Syracuse University community, in extending our heartfelt condolences to David’s family, friends and all who knew him. Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with all of those grieving this terrible loss.”
